Do I call BELCOMFORT when I am building a new home?

Absolutely! In fact, the sooner the better. If you contact BELCOMFORT when you are designing, we can make certain the right unit for your home has a place and builders don’t have to back up and tear down walls to make room.

How long do new units last?

With proper maintenance from BELCOMFORT , a new air conditioner will perform well for 15 to 20 years and a gas furnace will last anywhere from 20 to 25 years.

How often should my unit be serviced?

It’s a good idea to have a qualified technician from BELCOMFORT take a look at your heating and air conditioning once each year as per manufacturerrsquo;s recommendations.
We recommend an a/c check in the spring and a heating check in the fall.
The BELCOMFORT technician will inspect all aspects of your system from the thermostat to the chimney.

What difference does duct cleaning make?

Dust, dirt, cat and dog dander, grease, mold, bacteria... a whole host of stuff lives in your ducts. It’s a good idea to have it cleaned out every few years...
for your family’s health, for the efficiency of your heating and cooling, and for the cleanliness of your house. You should also get it done when you are installing new equipment,
because chances are the new blower will be more powerful and stir up a lot of bits that have been sitting in your ducts, undisturbed. BELCOMFORT can take care of your ducts.

How often should I change my filters?

When your forced air heating system is in full swing – October through April – fiber filters should be replaced once a month.
If you find they are really full of dust and stuff in the peak of the season, they can be changed more often. If your air conditioning is also forced air, the filters should be changed in the summer months, as well.
BELCOMFORT
carries a wide variety of filters.

What is the difference between the thicker pleated filters and the spun glass?

The paper-like media filters are finer and will collect smaller bits of airborne solids. They are a little more expensive but they are also significantly more effective at cleaning the air.
